The Data Visualization Society annually conducts The State of the Industry Survey, which can be attended by experts from different countries.

This year I decided to study the data. I wondered if the predilections for certain с were international. To do this, I researched the answers to the question "Which of these charts have you created in the last 6 months?" from section 4: Tools, Charts, Challenges.

Each graph is represented by a "dandelion" consisting of lines, each of which corresponds to the country. The transparency of the line shows the share of respondents from each country who chose this chart.

It seemed important to indicate the total number of people who "voted" for the chart, for this I used the area of the circle in the center of each element.

I used the same scale in the legend to show the number of respondents from different countries. The maximum number of participants is from the USA. And then the countries are sorted in descending order by the number of respondents.

I used information provided by respondents whose last section answered was 8b. Also I showed countries which at least 5 respondents marked as the country they live in and charts that were selected by at least 5 people.

I also removed Infographics from the list of charts, since this is not a specific type of visualization, and VR/AR Chart and 3D Chart, since this is more about the technology or appearance of the chart, and not about its essence.

Charts are sorted by the total number of votes cast for them. Bar Chart is expected to be in the first place. And with a small margin goes Line Chart. Pie Chart, although it regularly receives its share of criticism, holds its positions (4th place).

This section also had an open-ended question, where respondents had the opportunity to specify charts in free form. I cleaned up this data and added to the poster. They certainly lose in terms of the number of votes, but it seemed important to keep them too.
